Former Caerphilly coach Charlie Falkner has passed away, age 81. Falkner, who rose to fame in the 70's, was part of the Pontypool Front Row that represented Wales, earning 19 caps between 1975 and 1979 and later appearing for the British and Irish Lions in 1977. The loosehead prop went on to coach Cardiff, Newport and St Peters, linking up with Caerphilly in the late 90's as the side progressed into the Welsh Premier league of rugby. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family
