Caerphilly Youth Fight Through to National Regional Championship Final

Caerphilly Youth fought through to the WRU National Regional Champions Final defeating Crymych Youth 27-15. The young side never looked back after a 6th minute try by centre Cyle Powell. Some excellent kicking from full back Liam Waters ensured that the side remained ahead.

The only blemish was to give away a try on the stroke of half time following a missed up and under in the 22, leaving the half time score at 14-10.

Strong pressure early in the second half saw no.8 Sam Haley cross the whitewash before Powell added his second. Crymych came back strong towards the end, and recorded a well worked try to narrow the gap.

With them chasing the game, however, Caerphilly broke away, and were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which Walters slotted to increase the lead to 12 points with minutes to go. The Green and White held on to complete the victory, booking their place in the final to be played next Friday at the WRU Centre of Excellence in Ystrad Mynach.
