U14's MATCH REPORT - Final Score - Caerphilly 22 - Penallta 15 - KO 11.30am

At a sun-drenched Constructaquote stadium, two well- matched teams took to the pitch this morning. The first play of the match set the tone for the game, with a barnstorming run from Abieshek only stopped by some determined tackling on the line from Penallta. The visitors cleared their lines, with some great tackling from Owen Hughes forcing a knock on. The game then ebbed and flowed before an outstanding rip from Scott Pritchard enabled some nice passing along the line to release Abieshek again to run the full length of the pitch to score in the corner for the first try.

Relentless pressure from Penallta was equalled only by strong tackling across the team and eventually the home team were able to break into the 22 with Pritchard picking up from No.8 to crash through at short range. The game was full of great running and tackling from both teams and eventually Penallta's perseverance paid off with a close range score from a penalty on the Caerphilly line.
From the resultant KO a strong run from Owen Hughes set up good field position for Pritchard to pick up and cross the line for the home side's third score.
Penallta however never gave up and a well- worked line out from another penalty saw the visitor's winger show good pace and strength to score in the corner for their second try. The cheesemen were not finished however, with Scott Pritchard bursting through in determined fashion for the fourth score from short range. 

Some outstanding tackling across the team kept the visitors at bay as the game approached the final minutes but, in fairness to Penallta, they kept going with their heads up to the end and managed a final consolation score with the final move of the match.
